FIRST NATIONAL BANK presents

An Evening with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee
ROGER MCGUINN
Co-Founder and Leader of THE BYRDS

Once again we couldn't believe how lucky we were to welcome an artist whose contribution to the soundtrack of our lives is undeniable and timeless.

We were honored and what an unforgettable night it was.

It would be almost impossible to exaggerate the influence of the Byrds on a generation of musicians and fans alike. With vibrant, soaring hits like Mr. Tambourine Man, Turn Turn Turn, Eight Miles High, So You Wanna Be a Rock and Roll Star and so many more, the Byrds were an indelible part of Sixties and Seventies culture and their exquisitely crafted original recordings still shimmer like the many Gold Albums they earned.

THE SCOTSMAN, Edinburgh said... just last summer...

The interface between ex-Byrd Roger McGuinn's disarmingly nervy, boyishly eager manner and his audience's reverential delight produced a singularly intense, intimate atmosphere throughout this one man show...

The touching thing was that McGuinn retains an air of a man still pinching himself at his good fortune, while delivering such classics as All I Really Want To Do, Chimes of Freedom and all the Byrds classics in his golden plaintive voice, with many in the crowd wiping their eyes as the memories flooded back.

The hits were interspersed with rarities, traditional folk numbers and samples of his later solo work, and if the sublime signature harmonies were necessarily missing from Byrds material, the Rickenbacker's radiant jangle was fully present and correct, alongside some seriously nifty picking.

If you're of a certain age (or were raised by extremely cool parents...)

Watch this... and prepare to be thrilled...
