At the top of her game!– San Francisco Chronicle

A comedic genius and a masterful standup. Her style remains unscripted, with audience participation required. This approach is of course like skipping around a minefield, but Poundstone does it with style and grace.

A QUICK NOTE FROM YOUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Comedy is very much a matter of taste, it's very subjective... but I can't resist throwing in my own two cents' worth here.

I've been lucky enough to present almost every major comedienne in the last couple of decades, or to be present when one of my smarter competitors booked one that I couldn't get. I presented Ms. Poundstone two years ago in Florida... to 1200 roaring fans... and I can tell you this, friends, with my hand on my heart...

Paul Poundstone is by a mile... a mile and a half... the single funniest woman I've ever seen, on any stage, anywhere. Her performance is to comedy what early Miles Davis was to Jazz.

The most common feedback we got from our customers after the show was that they laughed so much that their cheek muscles hurt. That's not public relations hype, that's absolutely true.

She's that rare comic who doesn't rely on shock and personal destruction, but on intelligent, razor sharp observation and interplay with the audience. Once you've seen her live you know that a laugh that comes at the same time from the gut and from the mind is a very powerful thing to experience.
David Jenkins, Executive Director, Don Gibson Theatre

She's been very much a trailblazer for women. First female to win a Cable Ace Award, first female to be invited to perform at the White House Correspondents Dinner, first time Harvard University allowed its name to be used in the title of a TV show (her second HBO special, Paula Poundstone Goes to Harvard)...
– Sacramento Press

It's impossible to attend a Paula Poundstone performance without marvelling at her ability to interact spontaneously with audience members in conversations that result in riotous laughter. Armed with nothing but a stool, a microphone and a can of Diet Pepsi, Paula's ability to create humor on the spot has become the stuff of legend. Little wonder people leave her shows debating whether the random people she talked to were plants - which they never are. She keeps the crowd laughing from the moment she hits the stage to until they very reluctantly let her go.
