One of the most consistent chart-makers ever.

FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF SHELBY PRESENTS

An undeniable part of the very fabric of American pop culture of the 1960's.
We celebrate an outrageous accomplishment - 50 years of great records - including some of the biggest popular hits of all time - and millions of miles on the rock and roll road making people happy around the world.

The songs you've known your entire life!

SEVEN GOLD RECORDS!
Bobby Vee helps keep the music and the magic of the music alive.
– Jerry Allison, The Crickets
I learned a lot from Bobby Vee!
– Bob Dylan
(and, yes, it's true, Bob Dylan once did play piano in Bobby Vee's band)
Vee is still a very big draw, a fact born out by the full house at New Brighton's Floral Hall. More importantly, he still rocks, and the spellbound crowd joined in.
– Liverpool Daily Post and Echo

His show was rockin', romantic, raucous, funny and fast paced, and above all it was of the very highest quality. His voice was in great shape. He sang his hits the way you expected and wanted to hear them. He knows what his audience wants and he delivers it, in spades... and his band were absolutely a show unto themselves. Some Oldies acts make you feel old when you walk out of the hall, but you felt like you were 16 after this one. For about a week afterwards!
 – Sunrise Theatre, Fort Pierce, Florida
With 38 Billboard singles, four feature films and countless TV appearances, Bobby Vee became one of the very biggest Rock and Roll stars of the pre-Beatles era.

A QUICK NOTE FROM YOUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
I've had the immense pleasure of working closely with Bobby Vee on over a hundred live shows in the last five years. Sometimes when you work with an "Oldies" act you cut them a lot of slack, you forgive their flaws onstage in gratitude for the many years that they've given you pleasure. Forget it in this case, because Bobby will blow you away. No slack required. Bobby and his KILLER band truly rock. You'll see there's a very good reason he was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
After the first time I was fortunate enough to present Bobby in concert I forever stopped calling him an Oldies act. I call him a Vintage act, like a very fine wine. If you've been to one of our shows here at the Don Gibson Theatre, you know that quality means EVERYTHING to us. As we book artists there's one test the act HAS to pass. We need to know that the act will KNOCK YOU OUT, and because of this the very first act I ever called to discuss a gig at the Gibson Theatre was Bobby Vee.
